How delighted I was to receive a preview of Jeremy Leggett's new book a few weeks back.
I've been working with the solar pioneer to help promote his new serialised tome which is being released monthly between now and December 2015.
We've reached an exciting tipping point in the evolution of global energy. That's the central premise of 'The Winning of the Carbon War', an upbeat, positive insight from Jeremy's frontline campaigning. (He has now exited from his day-to-day roles at Solarcentury to focus 100% of his time on trying to effect change in the run-up to the UN climate talks taking place in Paris this Christmas.
And change is possible. Reading this book and speaking with Jeremy on the phone over the last few weeks has revitalised my belief that we're not doomed after all. You see, when money and markets talk, things start to happen and we are currently witnessing major global organisations, like the Rockefeller Foundation, divest and move their money away from fossil fuels.
Meanwhile, the Bank of England has just promised to examine ‘stranded assets’ and review their impact on the financial markets. Add into the mix a significant drop in oil prices, pressure on fossil fuel company profits, and a feeling of ‘panic’ throughout the industry - things are certainly starting to heat up.
I urge you to rush and download the first installment of Jeremy's prose. It's lively, upbeat and positive and, unlike most books on the subject, leaves you believing that change really is coming.
